A 32-year-old Vadim, resident of the closed secret town of Seversk (aka Tomsk-7), where Russian nuclear warheads are produced and stored, wrote a self-censored report on the situation on his Internet blog. The town is now surrounded by raging forest fires:
"I would not rule out a possibility of man-made disasters related to burning forests.
The main risk for Tomsk Region is the Siberian Chemical Plant and Site 18, from where liquid radioactive wastes have been pumped into the subsoil to a depth of 300-400 meters for 40 years.
The most obvious risk is penetration of liquid radioactive waste into the water supply system of the city of Tomsk.
It is necessary to prevent throwing tons of water from the air on Object 45t by Be-2 aircraft brought in on July 29.2012 by the minister of emergency situations Puchkov. It concerns a former nuclear power plant, both reactors of which have been decommissioned since for 5 years, or more dangerous places".
Meanwhile, other bloggers revealed a
state secrets of the Russian Federation, that an explosion took place on August 2 in the deadly town:
"Does anybody know what happened in Seversk? They talk about an explosion. But news agencies are silent, there is nothing about it there".
